Summer is in the air and quickly approaching. For those of you staying near the Twin Cities this summer, I highlighted some local Minneapolis shops that should be on your list to check out. Each store has its own quirks and unique flare. They are also shops that I kept seeing all over Instagram, so I HAD to check them out!
Frostbeard Studio
A book lovers dream? Candles that smell like stories. Say what?! Yes, it’s a thing and Frostbeard Studio started the craze. They opened in 2012 as a pottery studio and quickly grew as an Etsy sensation after being highlighted by BuzzFeed in 2013.
Each candle encapsulates a place, setting, story or theme perfectly. Each scent evokes fictional worlds, literary characters and the pleasure of reading. The whole thing started when Roxie, one of the owners, tried to find a library-scented candle. She looked everywhere online but came up empty-handed. Since bookish candles simply didn’t exist, she decided to take matters into her own hands.
The first Frostbeard candle was the Oxford Library. They currently have over 20 different scents of candles. To see a full list of their collections click here.  You can also find their candles in many wholesale shops, on their website and on Etsy.
When I visited their home studio, I was amazed by how much their candles really reminded me of classic stories. They have one called The Shire that smells just like you’d think the infamous setting in The Hobbit world would. They certainly know how to capture the essence of certain stories perfectly.

The next store I checked out is also one of the many places that sell Frostbeard’s candles. My main draw to the store was the internet famous photo spot on the exterior of the building. It’s adorable, vibrant and oh so cute!

Taking a look inside the shop, their store is made up of a diverse mix of Minnesota home goods, cards, gifts and more. It definitely has an edgy Minneapolis vibe. Everything i like you minneapolis sells is made by local artists and crafters.
Patina
Patina is a fun Minnesota boutique with seven locations across the Twin Cities. The shop I visited is off of Snelling and sells a lot of Minnesota home decor, art and more. It’s a cute gem worth checking out!
If you’re looking for a cute and quikry gift for a friend – they have it. Their store is an art project in process and they sell a variety of knickknacks, coffee mugs, books, wall art, blankets and so much more. To find a location, check out their website.
