Living in Manhattan during terror threats

Today, yet again, another individual tried to instill fear into a city that so desperately doesn’t need it. Again, I got to witness how defiant New Yorkers are as they continue to go about their days and not let their steps be faltered. It’s with confidence we take these streets—not ignorance or irresponsibility, but with the realization and awareness again that life is really damn short. God goes before us and we live like we’ve got nothing to lose. I’m so thankful the NYPD is so on top of everything and willing to respond so quickly and intensely.. especially when pipe bombs go off in Times Square subway stations. Grateful to be in New York at this time, despite the many things that may be happening all around me.

So thankful this terror attack wasn’t as bad as it could’ve been, and that my internship is complete because this happened right where I usually get off the subway for work. If there’s any place to learn how to live life fearlessly– it’s in New York City.
