My family and I just took a summer trip to Los Angeles, California. One of my favorite cities in the world.
We went for a family vacation and to catch my favorite band LANY play a sold-out concert at the iconic Greek Theatre in Griffith Park. We spent six days on the west coast and enjoyed staying in West Hollywood near Fairfax, hiking in the hills, exploring Malibu and adventuring through Disneyland.
Staying in West Hollywood near Fairfax
We booked an apartment through Airbnb in West Hollywood and stayed two streets over from Fairfax and our favorite Italian restaurant Jon & Vinny’s. It was so fun to be in a residential area of LA versus a hotel. The neighborhood and homes near Fairfax and Melrose are so cute. Plus the shopping is awesome. We stayed right by all my favorite spots in LA and were a short walk from The Grove.
Jon and Vinny’s on Fairfax
My favorite Italian restaurant in the world is Jon and Vinny’s. Everything is so fresh, delicious and light. It’s amazing. We stayed less than a five-minute walk away so we could go multiple times. It was so fun to take the whole family. We went for dinner the first night we were in LA and we also did takeout and brunch during the week! If you ever visit make sure to order the Spicy Fusilli and Avocado Toast!

The Grove and The Original Farmers Market
I bought my first pair of Air Force 1s at NIKE. They are officially my new favorite concert shoe and have been completely broken-in thanks to the LANY shows we went to. Additional favorites at The Grove: Pressed Juicery, Halo Top Scoop Shop and the farmers market–which was so cute, an LA historic landmark and has been there since 1934!
Breathtaking sunsets in Runyon Canyon
I LOVE hiking in Los Angeles. Runyon Canyon is one of my favorite places to do so. There are multiple trails and the views at night are wondrous. I love the Hollywood hills and seeing the sweeping city lights come to life. We also experienced one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve seen yet in California.
LANY in LA – MALIBU NIGHTS WORLD TOUR ROUNDS 3 & 4
The REAL reason I went back to Los Angeles? To see my favorite band LANY play a sold-out hometown show at Greek Theatre in Griffith Park. My family scored pit tickets and it was absolutely dreamy.
Hometown shows for your favorite band are everything. There was so much emotion shared on stage and in the crowd amongst the fans. I loved getting to experience and witness it all. It was such an energetic and vibrant night. My mom, sister and I also went to the second night they played in LA. You can read more of my thoughts on the LA LANY shows and see photos/videos I captured here.
EXPLORING MALIBU
Sunday was for brunch at J&V’s, church at Hillsong LA and then the afternoon exploring Malibu.
The cover of LANY’s EP Kinda was photographed in Malibu, so naturally, being the fangirl I am, we had to visit the exact spot. It overlooked the beach and was so beautiful. I love the ocean and would live here in a heartbeat. (If you want the address to the KINDA spot – DM me on Instagram).
After we went to El Matador Beach, which is one of my favorite places on this earth.
Disneyland
We spent our last full day in California at Disneyland. My family has been to Disney World too many times to count, but we’ve never done Disneyland, so it was exciting to explore somewhere new!
I love Los Angeles with my entire being. There’s nothing like driving north on highway one, walking along the beach feeling the surf and sand, the culture on Fairfax and Melrose, the endless sunshine and just California in the summer! I fully intend to live here someday soon. Until then xx
