Exploring St. Pete Beach and TradeWinds Island Resorts

My family and I recently spent 17 days in Florida. Our first destination was TradeWinds Island Resorts in St. Pete Beach. It’s located on the west coast of Florida on the Gulf shores and is one of our all-time favorite places. I was so excited to return, it’s a tropical paradise I completely adore.

We stayed four nights, five days at TradeWinds. The weather was a bit rainy with high winds for the first few days, but we still had a great time. TradeWinds offers a plethora of activities to enjoy regardless of the weather. We spent our time in their gym, pools and hot tubs. When it wasn’t raining, we walked and ran the beach, rested in cabanas and lounged oceanside at Salty’s Tiki Bar where ordered frozen drinks and cheeseboards and listened to live music with our toes in the sand.

Best frozen drinks at TradeWinds: Marvelous Mango, Island Escape or their namesake Tradewinds.

The best part of TradeWinds is that the resort is right on the beach. The view of the sunsets over the ocean is spectacular. Evening time is absolutely gorgeous and the most serene experience. The colors of the sky seem to boldly stretch on forever until the sun kisses the horizon and disappears. It’s incredibly beautiful.

While in St. Petes we explored nearby cities Tampa and St. Petersburg. We checked out the Tampa International Mall and found the best Mexican food downtown. Red Mesa Cantina was noteworthy and is definitely worth checking out. Especially if you like tacos and frozen margs!!!

Our time at TradeWinds was relaxing, zany and fun. I loved our late night beach adventures and swinging in the hammocks with my crazy siblings. We had a blast and were so excited to hit our next Florida destination in Orlando where we stayed for a few days and our brother Austin joined us.
