2 places to explore outdoors in the Twin Cities

It’s been unusually warm in the Twin Cities this past week: we’ve  had days where temperatures hit 60 degrees, and it’s only the middle of February?! Crazy, but I’ll take it. I love warm weather and all things summer, so when spring fever starts to hit, you can bet I’m outdoors and ready for an adventure.

Thankfully living in the Minnesota, there’s plenty of places to see and explore. The Twin Cities area is rich with parks, trails and paths perfect for an afternoon outside. Here are two you should definitely check out this weekend.

  1. Stone Arch Bridge and Mill Ruins Park.

This is a personal favorite of mine. I absolutely love city life, so anytime I can enjoy this beautiful weather and be surrounded by the hustle and bustle of Minneapolis, I’m so there.

The Stone Arch Bridge and Mill Ruins Park lies within the St. Anthony Falls Historic District and the bridge is right over the Mississippi River. It has a stunning view of the city and Minneapolis skyline.

  2. Minnehaha Falls

For a hiking/scenic outdoor park and path, there’s Minnehaha Falls. It’s one of Minneapolis’ oldest and most popular parks and features a majestic 53-foot waterfall, limestone bluffs and river overlooks. There are so many trails and while it’s a popular place, it’s quiet, serene and peaceful. Definitely nice for a warm afternoon.
